is how some people feel the need to judge who is and is not a fan of a particular thing. For example, if you just started watching a show last week, they get annoyed if you reblog a gifset from an episode you haven’t yet seen. OR if you come across a picture of some band looking cute, don’t you DARE reblog that photo because you weren’t here since the beginning and don’t know their middle names, favorite flavors of ice cream, height, and biggest fears. You know what? FUCK THAT. This is my blog and I post whatever I want. If you don’t like it or you don’t think I’m “worthy” of having certain images on my blog, unfollow, you insecure asshole. I don’t post for you, I don’t post to get attention, I post for me because I like having a place on the internet that is a collection of things I like and want to look back at. Chill the fuck out.

This is how I feel about life also. Not just Tumblr, just, like, anything… the vast majority of the time, you being enthusiastic about a thing that you just started liking does nothing to hurt people who have liked that thing for a long time. I LOVE when other people like things that I like because then I can talk about them with them! I don’t know where this possessiveness/sense of entitlement from long-time fans comes from, but it’s such a silly waste of time.

I agree. I think that the main difference between hipsters and nerds is that hipsters try to squirrel everything away for themselves while still trying to appear aloof. They find something they like and hide it so nobody else can ever get to it, because nobody will enjoy it like they do, whereas geeks and nerds are RIDICULOUSLY ENTHUSIASTIC about things they enjoy, and they’ll tell EVERY SINGLE PERSON THEY KNOW about it until everybody is either telling them to shut up about it or raving about it with them.
Hipsters want everything to themselves.
Nerds just want everyone to enjoy everything as much as we do.

These are all the Nerdfighter notes I’ve ever found, with the exception of my first - it was in the copy of Paper Towns I bought and at some point I threw it away. The top one was written by the DC Nerdfighters at a gathering. The next two are also from DC. The bottom four are from New York - both the Barnes & Noble in Union Square and the Borders in Columbus Circle.

My tFioS copy is not only Hanklerfished, but it is also Adorabled (which is what I’m calling the addition of adorable baby Henry Elmo stickers that are adorable.)

Waiting to read until my roommate gets her copy, but damn. This is an awesome day.

This is the “This Star Won’t Go Out” t-shirt that I designed with another nerdfighter. I used an iron on to create it.

Ahoyhoy! My name's Sam, I'm 19, and a Nerdfighter of the Greater DC Area. And I thank you for taking time out of your busy procrastination to visit me here. Be warned, though. I will actually have some serious content on this site. Sometimes. I am a human, an actor, an atheist, a Nerdfighter, a bibliophile, and above all, I am a Harry Potter fan. It may seem strange, but I delved into it at a young age, and I was hooked. I like Pokémon, I like basically all books, though there are a few I wouldn't even touch with a hundred-foot pole, and I am a pretty open guy. There's really nothing that can be said to shock me, either. Nerdfighteria is a completely different topic. It creates a community. Hell, I've become close with a ton of these people over the course of a week. Some of us spent nearly three days straight together. It's an amazing thing to be a part of. John and Hank Green are fantastical people. I am also in an incredible amount of other fandoms, so you should probably ask me about those, too. They feature such prominent titles as Homestuck, Doctor Who, Supernatural, and a menagerie of others.
